It is a growing requirement among Water Authorities that commercial food premises must install devices to filter solid waste from the wastewater running to the drain.

This requirement relates to both sink drains and floor drains.

The Eco Guardians Drain Protector range is divided into three categories - to fit sinks, floors and floor troughs - with every model carrying WSAA and WaterMark approval. In all cases, there is a removeable stainless steel basket with a fixed, secondary stainless steel screen below it as commonly required by water authority codes. Thus, even if the basket is lost, the DrainProtector continues to do its job.

 All models are cast in AISI316 stainless steel and designed to fit standard sink and floor wastes.

Sink Drain Protectors

Sink units are available to fit 90 mm outlets and 125 mm outlets. All are equipped with 2 inch BSPT to engage with the waste pipe. Each is available with or without a drain valve operated by an external lever. Where a lever is included, there is a choice of two lengths to ensure the most ergonomic outcome in any location.

Floor Drain Protectors

A choice of 660 cc or 1600 cc baskets with square flanges and robust hinged lids. Designed to recess into hard floor surfaces. These models are approved by Brisbane City Council for use in bin-wash areas thus avoiding the need to install grease traps.

F1600 Floor DrainProtector, 250 x 250 mm square flange, 1600 cc basket, body fits 150 mm diameter floor waste. (Adaptor to 100 mm floor waste available.)

Trough Drain Protectors

The same basket capacities as for the floor units but without lids and designed to be welded under a floor trough in front of, for example, a bulk-cooking system. This concept is unique to Eco Guardians and the two models are recognised as Registered Designs.

FT1600 Trough DrainProtector, 183 mm diameter circular flange, 1600 cc basket, body fits 150 mm floor waste (Reg’d Design Cert, 332706). Adaptor to 100 mm floor waste available.
